Health Benefits In Drinking Wine

Drinking wine has several advantages today other than its great taste. Several studies have shown that drinking wine can also be very healthy for you. Scientific research on the health benefits of drinking wine has been extensive over the past decade. These studies suggest a number of positive effects that drinking wine can have on your health.

Researchers have shown that drinking wine, in moderation, can help reduce the risk of heart disease. Studies show it keeps your heart beating in a more healthy rhythm. Researchers found that women in particular with heart disease who drank wine had an increase in heart rate variability, which is a marker of the changes in time intervals between heartbeats. It is known that a decrease in the heart rate variability has been linked to a higher risk of heart disease that can lead to death.

Researchers say that wine increases your HDL (good cholesterol) levels thus decreasing the risk of heart disease. This along with the effect the heart rate variability may be one more reason why drinking wine reduces the risk of heart disease and heart-related deaths. Wine has also been found to affect favorably the body's adsorption of antioxidants in food and helps metabolize fat more efficiently.

A study done in the journal "Heart", studied 102 women under the age 75 who survived a heart attack or heart surgery to clear blocked arteries. During their recovery period, the participants were asked to chronicle how much and what kind of alcohol they consumed. One year later, researchers used a heart monitor to measure the women's heart activity over a 24-hour period as they went through their normal daily activities. The study showed that heart rate variability was the highest among women who drank at least half a glass of wine per day and lowest among women who drank no alcohol at all.

As the studies show, drinking wine can definitely be a health benefit.

Additional Health Benefits in Drinking Red Wine

Studies show drinking red wine in particular may have additional benefits on your health. Researches show red wine can decrease the risk of coronary heart disease, lung and prostate cancers, dementia, stroke, diabetes, macular degeneration, kidney stones and osteoporosis. A recent Spanish study even implies drinking red wine may even help fight off the common cold.

For optimal health benefits, drink small amounts of wine daily as part of a meal. Remember as in all things, drinking in moderation is always the healthiest. So go ahead and savor the taste of drinking wine while enjoying the health benefits it can have on your life.

A few of my favorite food links from today’s news: Whole Foods has a lot of Portlanders up in arms over their recent legal action towards fellow local natural food store New Seasons. Someone’s not playing fair! Food & Wine Magazine’s Mouthing Off brings us cheap eats from around the world! Fall into fall (winter?) with a hearty apple or pear ale! Wade: Well, oh my! I sure am stuffed! My, my goodness! Got ourselves a nice little Thanksgiving break there. Always does a man good, I tell you what. You know, this time of year is always so hectic. But I think we’re well-prepared this time. I know we got those pesky Steelers coming up. And we’re still chasing a playoff spot. But I feel good about where we are. Yep, I think we’re gonna have a much more stable December round these parts. Nope, no crises here at Valley Ranch of any sort! No em

A few years ago, no one would have predicted a site like www.SaveOurStarbucks.com. Created by entrepreneur Paul Konrardy after the financially troubled coffee chain announced in July that it would be closing 600 American stores, the site gives loyal customers a place to sign petitions urging the corporation to take their beloved shops off the chopping block. It used to be that people signed petitions to keep Starbucks out of their neighborhoods. That’s if they were feeling nice. Others resor

The Office Christmas Party 1 of 2 Some years ago I was lucky enough to work for a company who gave great Christmas parties. The first year I was with them we were all taken to a Country hotel by coach. We could eat and drink all the wine provided at the table for free and not even have to worry about getting back as they provided 3 coaches to take us home. At that time I was single and looking forward to a bit of flirting, especially with one of my work colleagues Carl. I fancied the pants of

Someone needs to get this bitch some serious dick. She’s acting like a little spoiled brat, probably because she is one, as she ignores the paparazzi when walking to her car and then bitches at them for being on her driveway when her and Ronson get home and the whole thing is fucking ridiculous. Sure the paparazzi invade privacy, they get in your face, they annoy you and all that shit, but they only do it when you are famous and accessible. If this bitch really wanted to get away from it all,

Cheap wine is better than expensive wine. I think you can spend a little time doing research and find a bottle of wine you like for much less.
